Adding new activities |

Amending existing activities |
To change an existing activity, organisations should request a change to the activity using the Review Module of Transport Investment Online (TIO The NZTA's web-based funding allocation system. ). This ensures that the correct information is captured AND decisions are made in a timely manner. |
Declaring surplus budget Excess funds which must be declared as soon as they are identified.

Any excess funds that are forecast as not being needed to complete an activity must be declared as soon as they are identified. Early declaration of excess funds will not preclude the later consideration of a request for reinstatement of funds. Such a request will be given first priority for available funds. |
Emergency Works |

Applicants should take note of the timescales for notifying the NZTA representative and for requesting funding assistance. |
Minor Improvements |

Provided sufficient provision remains in the current allocation, the Approved Organisation or the NZTA (state highways) has the authority to add new minor improvement activities to the programme.
The NZTA expects that Approved Organisations and the NZTA (State Highways) develop a list of minor improvements as supporting information for its proposed programme for input to the Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP A regional land transport plan, prepared under Part 2 of the LTMA, as from time to time amended or varied. ). The list is expected to be maintained and reviewed by the Approved Organisation or NZTA (state highways) during the course of the NLTP A National Land Transport Programme Interrelated and complementary combination of activities that, when delivered in a coordinated manner, produce synergies – can span more than one work category and more than one activity class, e.g. a programme could include a road improvement and public transport improvement activities. adopted by the NZTA under section 19 of the LTMA, as from time to time amended or varied . Approved Organisations and the NZTA (state highways) are expected to apply a simplified assessment and prioritisation process to proposed activities, to provide a view of their priority and value for money Selecting the right things to do, implementing them in the right way, at the right time and for the right price.
