Road maintenance programmes: Activity classes - guidance

Introduction

This section sets out the guidance on the activity classes for road maintenance programmes. 

Which activity class?

There are two activity classes as described below.

• Activity class 8:  Local road maintenance - applies to Approved Organisations only
• Activity class 9:  State highway maintenance - applies to the Transport Agency(state highways) only

To qualify for NLTP consideration

Any road maintenance activity described in the following work categories in this section may qualify for consideration for inclusion in the National Land Transport Programme.

Developing a Road Maintenance Programme

Guidance is provided on how use a structured and planned approach during the development of the road maintenance programmes.
