Introduction |
Transport Agency policy is that weight restrictions on roading facilities, where these are shown to be the best economic option, should be imposed and continued. Where the cost of renewal, reinstatement or structural upgrading of any roading facility is determined to be uneconomic, such works will not be eligible for funding assistance as a rule.
The Transport Agency will continue to provide funding assistance for the cost-effective maintenance of the facility. |
Options to be considered for bridge replacements on low volume roads |
Approved Organisations and the Transport Agency (state highways) are expected to apply the decision tree shown in the simplified procedure SP2 in the Transport Agency Economic Evaluation Manual, Decision chart for bridge replacements on low volume roads, to select the preferred (optimal) option for bridge replacements on low volume roads. |
